Putting in some overtime with Burrgzz

Yo!

This week on the show we were invited by local beat junkie Burrgzz to join him in his studio and have a rinse on his rig (nice set up aaaii).  A bit of b2b2b action followed by an solid hour of breaks from Burrgzz, and since there was no-one after us and we were feelin the tunes, we kept it up for another two hours.  The second half of the show sees some heavier breaks, nasty dubstep, finishing up with a little ol’ fashioned drum n bass rinse out.

No tracklist as we were having too much fun, but clickity click and get listening.

DE here – I’m approaching 3 years on the mighty NSB Radio so you’d think I’d be getting the hang of it now! This show is a top example of what I’ve been aiming for. Solid party tunes covering breaks, electro, DNB, & dub in a smooth running 2 hrs. I’ve never re-listened to a show as much as this one, so I take that as a good indication! Hope you enjoy!

Lady Waks birthday and baby bonanza

This week on the show we had (courtesy of Jon Giff) a wicked interview with the first lady herself – Lady Waks! She tells us about playing breaks at a techno party, being a mum, and other general awesomeness that goes with being Lady Waks. We followed this with a mix from Mrs Waks from late last year – the Summer Shake Set… a bit late for those in the northern half but bloody appropriate for us on the flipside.

Simply the best festival of the year here in Perth, West Australia, occurs on Boxing Day. It is the one & only Breakfest. This year the Plump DJs share the stage with the Freestylers, Far Too Loud, & Freq Nasty to name but a few. SMBUp v Force Majeure b2b2b2b2b2b Smackdown

Last week we had another of our vs Force Majeure shows (since the one before was such fun), but this time we shook it up even more by getting another two of the Boomtick residents down to show us there stuff. The result? A back to back to back to back to back to back to back mega extreme mash-up of breaks, electro, house, techno, dubstep and all the genres and sub-genres and branches of genres you love to hear when down at Japan 4 (for those not in Perth, the best club night with the best dj’s at the best nightclub in Perth – srsly).

Big thanks to Mono Lisa and Philly Blunt for going head to head with their show, to Tee El and Oli for coming down and reprazentin’, to Nago who also threw on a few tunes, and to DC for lending us the bunker once again (but no thanks to his mate, who treated our gear with such lack of respect… no more cdj’s for you).
